• Descriptive: Hindsight/What is happening? "How many units did I sell?"
• Diagnostic: Insight/Explanation of why its happening. "Does the weather affect the sales?"
• Predictive: Foresight/What might happen? "How many units will I sell next week?"
• Perspective: Foresight/What should happen? "How can I grow demand?"

The lower you go, the more mature the analytics will be.
